ExitPro Plus - CEOA Module 5: Financial analysis and readiness assessment (1.0 CPE, CFP)


Description

This is the fifth module of the Certified Employee Ownership Advisor certificate program. At the end of this module, participants will be able to assess and communicate the potential benefits of EO for their business clients.

  • Evaluating how employee ownership can advance the goals of your business client
  • Criteria for recommending the appropriate employee ownership form (costs, timelines, resources)
  • Financial debt capacity analysis techniques for employee-owned businesses
  • Communicating the financial benefits of employee ownership to clients

Faculty

Sulayman Nyang Jr., CEPA, Financial Advisor, Edward Jones
Sulayman has pursued extensive training in strategic planning to assist business owners and nonprofit institutions with transition planning strategies and executive compensation structures. He holds the Certified Exit Planning Advisor® designation, in addition to an MBA from the Porter Byrum School of Business at Wingate University. Sulayman is also a Master of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Leadership candidate at Western Carolina University.


Miyaka Cochrane, Director of Business Engagement & Partnerships, Project Equity< br/>Miyaka is a multidisciplinary partnership manager who has spent time managing and growing businesses in food, accommodation, technology, and arts industries. In Texas, he worked with small chain restaurant Freebirds to grow into a multi-state brand by opening restaurants, implementing new procedures and employee development. Returning to his home state of California, he transitioned into the accommodation tech world to help vacation homeowners and managers expand their businesses through technology and partnerships. In 2017 he joined industry nonprofit HEDNA where he was elected and served on the Future Leaders board to shape the future of the industry. He studied ensemble-based physical theater at the Dell’ Arte International School and continues to be active in the Bay Area theater scene as an actor, clown, and puppeteer. He brings his skills of collaboration, communication and problem-solving from across industries to the business development team of Project Equity, working with partners and businesses to transition into employee-owned business models.


Continuing education

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive 1.0 hours of CFP Board and 1.0 hours of NASBA CPE.
